Oops! Did you forget? At the beginning of the year, all students were provided a copy of the Forest Lawn School Technology Acceptable Use Policy Agreement. Thank you to the 775 students who completed this and understand the expectations for technology use here at FLHS. There are a number of students who have not completed this form. You are asked to stop by the Learning Commons to read and sign this agreement. Your cooperation is appreciated.
Did you know . . . The Learning Commons has 3 Kobo readers now available for sign out.
How can I borrow one?
See us at the front desk for an Acceptance of Responsibility form.
Get it filled out. Bring it back.
Sign out an e-reader. Sign out terms are the same as for library books.
What can I read? Stop by the Learning Commons to see the list of titles. Right now, devices are loaded with 6 young adult titles (more will be added) and a tonne of classic literature titles - Jane Austen, Alexander Dumas, Charles Dickens, and more.
The Forest Lawn Learning Commons is the happening place to be! A few new things to share.
Open - Mon - Thurs - 8 am - 4 pm. Fri 8:00 am - 1:45 pm
You may bring water bottles/ non-spillable containers into the Commons. What does this mean exactly? If a staff member or you drops it, it will not spill. You can have these anywhere in the Commons except the computer areas.
Food is welcome in the Commons this year at the tables in Area 1 and Area 2 only. Please clean up after yourselves :)
Google Mail - in a week or two we will get your email addresses to you. You will have to create a new password. This new password will allow you to login to a CBE workstation as well as provide access to your educbe.ca student Google mail account and resources.
Chess Boards are available to use during your Study Hall times, before or after school as well as at lunch. Just ask at the desk.
Every week we hope to share the happenings from the Calgary Public Library. They offer great free programs for teens.
Stay tuned . . . there could be more exiting new things to come. This is our learning space. Let's have a great year.
